Travel + Leisure Awards Two Family-Friendly Hotels in Vietnam

HO CHI MINH CITY (Nov. 4, 2013) –Two of Vietnam’s front running hotels are proving as popular with tiny travelers as they are with grown-ups.

The Nam Hai in Hoi An and the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi were named among Asia’s Best Hotels for Families by Travel + Leisure magazine this month.

The Nam Hai and the Metropole were ranked fourth and sixth, respectively, in the magazine’s prestigious annual listing of top Asian hotels for those traveling with children.

At The Nam Hai, a 100-villa design resort occupying a coveted stretch of Ha My Beach, qualified staff oversee a daily program of activities for children — such as kite-making, cooking classes and treasure hunts — while a 100-square-metre play villa offers a wide selection of crafts, games and books to keep children occupied.

In the historic capital of Hanoi, Vietnam’s grande dame of hospitality extends a special welcome to families with a ‘Magnifique Family’ package that includes free breakfasts for children and a 50-percent discount on parents booking a second room to accommodate their youngsters.

The Metropole gifts each child guest staying on the package with a travel diary with which to record their adventures, modeled on the children’s classic The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

Travel + Leisure named the Philippines’ Discovery Shores hotel in Boracay the No. 1 family-friendly hotel in Asia this year.

An excavated wartime air raid shelter beneath the Metropole is a particular hit with kids
