Almost seven years after opening on the shores of Ha My Beach, The Nam Hai has leapfrogged the Peninsula in Hong Kong as Asia’s best leisure property, according to an online poll by Smart Travel Asia.
The results of the three-month ‘Best in Travel’ survey were culled from votes cast by the readers of SmartTravelAsia.com, a dedicated online travel magazine with more than a million visitors per month.
Based on actual experiences, word-of-mouth and exposure in the media, voters submit their own nominations from thousands of possible choices in Asia.
Aside from earning top billing in the Top 25 Leisure Hotels & Resorts category, The Nam Hai finished sixth on the list of Top 25 Spa Hotels & Resorts.
Also this month, The Nam Hai was named one of the world’s top 10 organic spas by Organic Spa Magazine, a leading eco-lifestyle publication in North America.
“Though the vibe here is one of serene luxury, the resort is also dedicated to preserving its environment,” the editors wrote. “Along with programs to conserve electricity, water and paper, the hotel has weekly ‘green days.’”
These latest accolades come a month after another prestigious magazine, Travel+Leisure, called out The Nam Hai twice in its ‘World’s Best Awards.’
A total of four GHM-managed resorts made Smart Travel Asia’s list of the Top 25 Leisure Hotels & Resorts, including The Legian Bali (No. 4), The Chedi Chiang Mai (12) and The Chedi Club at Tanah Gajah Ubud (15).
According to the poll, voters rate Bangkok the No. 1 holiday destination in Asia, followed by Bali and Phuket. Danang is seventh.
